Doha: Loyola International School, Qatar hosted one of its flagship events of the year, the Annual Arts and Science exhibition – Reflections, in both Al Nasr and Oasis Campuses.
In line with Loyola's goals of bringing the best out of students, the Education Fair provided a perfect platform for students to display their understanding of their academic subjects through a hands-on approach.
The Chief Guest, sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Thani, the Chief Patron of Loyola International School, graced the occasion at the Oasis campus and stressed in his speech about the immense importance of education in today's globalised world and also emphasised the valuable contribution of teachers in the field. He also spoke about the presence of diverse curricula from different countries, adding to the diversity of Qatar in the field of education.
P N Babu Rajan, President of ICC, and Chief Guest at the Al Nasr campus spoke about the development of education in Qatar over the years and appreciated the role that the teachers play in creating a learned society. The events in both campuses began with an inaugural ceremony which consisted of singing, dancing, speeches, and launching of the event with lamp lighting and curtain revealing.
Both schools saw innumerable projects that displayed the amalgamation of critical thinking and creative skills of students and teachers. Every department uniquely brought out the essence of their subjects by displaying highly creative and sophisticated projects, and along with it, creating an ambiance that was truly mesmerising.
The Arabic department had one entire room set up as a 'Makah', while the Malayalam department brought into the school a truly tropical ambiance of Kerala through their Chaya Kada (tea stall) and served tea and snacks to all. The Tamil department set up a gigantic Theru (chariot) along with some traditional musical instruments. Each department also exhibited the performances of students.
The onlookers witnessed the puppet show of the French Revolution, the Mime show about Anti Bullying, a stage show on Shakespeare's famous quotations, a Jingle by students on washing hands, acts on conflict management, a personality show, dancing, singing, and many more. Students showed their mastery as they explained their projects with immense enthusiasm. The art gallery displayed the talents of both the students and teachers.
Anup Chakravarthy (Managing Director of LIS), Sarat Koduru (Director – Operations), and Pramod Kumar Ranwaka (Principal of LIS), were all praises for the grand success of the event.
The exhibition received innumerable compliments as the magnitude of the event was unfathomable with every corner of the school decked up in its fullest glory.
