TPAO gas export probability increases with intl. companies in support

(MENAFN) As stated by Julian Bowden, a senior visiting research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies the probability of Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) exporting gas next year has increased considerably, with three firms working on the venture since the July-September period of 2021.

Bowden's remarks come after much doubts around the capability of TPAO to grow the sizable gas resources in the Sakarya area founded in August two years ago, which after additional search, were even bigger than first estimated.

With support from three worldwide firms, Bowden believes that TPAO is going to be able to have some field output on schedule for the second part of 2023.

Schlumberger & Subsea 7 obtained the EPIC contract (engineering, procurement, construction, installation) to improve the field.

Bowden stated that "These are all world-class companies and should enable TPAO to deliver the project more or less on schedule.”
