São Paulo – In partnership with Google, Algerian startup public accelerator Algeria Venture launched earlier this week a startup acceleration program in Algeria. Called Boost Entrepreneurship Competencies, this program aims to accelerate 14 Algerian businesses from different regions of the country in the sectors of information and communication technology, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, logistics, education or even biotechnology.

The selected companies will benefit from three months of training focusing in particular on finance, marketing, human resources and fundraising. The Algerian entrepreneurs will also be able, thanks to this program, to exchange with the founders of world-renowned start-ups and be put in contact with potential investors in a partnership with Google for Startups Accelerator Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Sid Ali Zerrouki, managing director of Algeria Venture, said this is the first acceleration program but that there will be new initiatives aimed to reach 100 companies accelerated by the end of the year. The program was launched in the presence of the minister delegate to the prime minister in charge of the Knowledge Economy and Startups, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid.
