QU meet highlights graduate students' projects

Doha: Under the supervision of the Department of Educational Sciences at the College of Education at Qatar University, a group of graduate students organised the first annual educational conference to present the projects of graduate students of the College of Education from specialists in educational leadership, curricula and teaching.

The conference was attended by Prof. Ahmed Al Emadi, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Hessa Al Thani, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and Dr. Ahmed Majeria, Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Affairs, faculty members and students.

The conference is considered a field training project and an application of the concept of student leadership. A student committee was formed to organise the conference headed by Hanan Al Ayla, and students from the Educational Leadership Program, Jawaher Al Muftah (Vice President), Shaima Al Hassan, Hanan Abdel-Rahman, Areej Marei, and Asma Jamal (master of the ceremony). Maryam Al Baker and Mai Al Jabri from the Curriculum and Teaching Program were also part of the committee. The students presented 18 research projects in four different formats presentations, research posters, short films, and innovative presentations.

The Dean of the College of Education confirmed that the conference has added value as a real and practical opportunity for students to practice advanced leadership skills such as communication, planning, teamwork, meeting management, problem solving, and decision-making because it is a practical translation of the sciences and theories gained from the College's graduate programs.
