Afghanistan - 5 of a family among 7 killed in Herat, Balkh attacks

KABUL (Pajhwok): Five members of a family have been killed in western Herat province, says an intelligence official.
The stabbing incident occurred in the Khwaja Surma village of Injil district, a spokesman for the provincial intelligence directorate said.
The casualties happened late on Friday night when unidentified attackers broke into a house and stabbed to death a man, a woman and three children.
Sabit Heravi told a Chinese media outlet the motive behind the attack was not known yet. A search is ongoing for the attackers.
Meanwhile, the provincial hospital director, Mohammad Arif, confirmed receiving five dead bodies from the area.
The dead included two children — aged four, six and eight — a 20-year-old woman and an old man, he said.
In northern of Balkh province, two girls from were found dead in Mazar-i-Sharif, a security official said, adding the victims hailed from in Sholgara district.
