Ukraine - No probability of Kharkiv being occupied - Reznikov

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As of today, it's totally unlikely that Russian troops will occupy the city of Kharkiv.

That's according to Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, who spoke in an interview with LB.ua , answering the question of how high the probability is Russia's blitz offensive on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, aimed at grabbing another piece of Ukrainian territory to then blackmail the Ukrainian authorities.

'You asked about probability. Fortunately, I can say with confidence: there is no such probability. I will explain why. See, if we talk about probability, there's 100% probability in terms of just words. If we take the theory of probability, the probability is 100% likelihood. And there's no such 100% likelihood,' Reznikov said.

At the same time, the minister stressed that the Russian military leadership is working out various plans for the invasion in the event a political decision is taken, so there is a possibility of attack from the south, sea, and east, as well as from the occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

'There are different plans in the works. But I consciously understand that there is no such probability as of today, 'the minister said.

He reiterated that a direct invasion would result in serious losses for the Russian Federation, not only of human nature, but also of economic and political ones.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky suggested that Russia might try to occupy Kharkiv.
