Ukraine: More than 56M tonnes of grain cropped


(MENAFN) Ukrainian agriculturists have reaped cereals and legumes off 12.2 million hectares, or 76 percent of the intended region, whereas 6.3 million tonnes of grain has been flailed, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food stated, and Ukrinform reported.

The report wrote: "Harvesting of grain and legumes, which has been completed on an area of 12.2 million hectares, or 76 percent of the forecast, with a yield of 46.2 centners per hectare, continues, while 56.3 million tonnes of grain has been threshed."

It is mentioned that the biggest amount of grain was flailed in Odesa region (around 4.5M tonnes), Kharkiv region (4.4M tonnes, and Dnipropetrovsk region (4.3M tonnes). The greatest crop was witnessed in Khmelnytskyi area with a level of 61.1 kg for hectare.
