Uzbek officials, Taliban delegation tackle several topics in Termez


(MENAFN) Uzbek officials and a Taliban delegation from Afghanistan tackled several topics, including economic relations and border security, in the Uzbek border city of Termez.

According to the Uzbek foreign ministry, the two sides "discussed issues of trade and economic interaction, border security, cooperation in the energy sector, international cargo transportation and transit."

Sardor Umurzakov, the government's deputy prime minister and minister of investments and foreign trade led the Uzbek delegation, as the Taliban delegation was led by acting Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi.

Termez is Uzbekistan's southernmost city and is situated at the border with Afghanistan.
