13 IS activists murdered by Iraqi anti-terror army forces

(MENAFN)The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) stated on Sunday, June 13, that its commando forces have murdered 13 militants of the extremist Islamic State (IS) group across the country up to now this month.

Spokesperson of CTS Sabah al-Numan told the official Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the commandos, supported by Iraqi aircraft, conducted several security operations in June, murdering 13 IS militants and arresting many others, in addition to the obliteration of some caves and hideouts.

The CTS forces will continue their actions to hunt down IS militants, al-Numan added.

The operations were part of efforts to get rid of the extremist IS militants who intensified their assaults on security forces and residents in the formerly IS-controlled provinces, resulting in the killing and injuring of dozens.
