Laos imposes 15 more days of lockdown to halt COVID-19 pandemic

The Lao government announced a 15-more-day extension of the lockdown imposed as part of preventive measures to halt the COVID-19 pandemic.

Laos’ authorities decided to extend the lockdown for 15 further days until May 20, to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report by the Center of Information and Education for Health under the Lao Ministry of Health on Tuesday.

The report added that every citizen should keep up to follow all government measures regarding the control of the pandemic including those imposed by a Prime Ministerial Order and the National Taskforce Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.


On Tuesday, Laos registered 60 more positive infections, taking the overall tally of cases in the country to 1,026.
