Portugal concludes immunization of education professionals

(MENAFN) A number of 183,000 jabs were given out against coronavirus in the current weekend, with the inoculation of 170,000 teachers and school staff concluded, declared Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa on Sunday.

The vaccination of the country's education professionals had been suspended because of questions raised regarding the AstraZeneca vaccine.

"The vaccination process is proceeding in its normal terms" and Portugal "is ready to fulfill the objective" of its vaccination procedure, stated Costa.

The Portuguese head of administration projected that "the entire population over 70 years old may be vaccinated" by the end of April, and people aged over 60 years old by next month.
