(MENAFN)President Mohammed Ashraf Ghani stated after a telephone conversation with his American counterpart that Afghanistan respects the US decision to remove troops and will work with American partners to ensure a smooth transition.
Afghanistan may work with the US and NATO partners in continuing peace efforts, Ghani further declared.
He further posted on Twitter that Afghanistan's proud security and defense forces are fully capable of defending its people and country, which they have been doing all along, and for which the Afghan nation will forever remain grateful."
US President Joe Biden asked a full removal of American troops from Afghanistan no later than Sept. 11.
