Syria: 23 fighters killed over fresh Israeli missile attack

(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Jan. 13, a war observer stated that, a number of 23 pro-administration fighters were left dead by a renewed Israeli missile attack in eastern Syria after midnight.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the "intense" missile attack aimed at sites of Syrian army and associated Iranian-supported militants in the area expanding from the city of Deir al-Zour to the al-Bukamal area on the Syrian-Iraqi frontier.

The UK-based watchdog group further said that seven of those killed were Syrians whereas the rest are Iranian-supported militants.

It said that the death toll could likely climb because of the number of gravely injured fighters.
