(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Oct. 24 (Petra)- The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has published on its website the final names of the electoral candidates' lists for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The final electoral lists has reached 294, and their candidates running has hit 1693, of whom 1,329 are males and 364 are females, the IEC's figures showed.
The lists announcement was made in accordance with the provisions of Article (16), of the Lower House's Election Law No. (6) of 2016 and its amendment.
Meanwhile, Article (17) entails any candidate in an electoral district to pull out his/her candidacy by submitting a written request to the election head in the target constituency ten days prior to the set voting date.
The IEC has set Tuesday, November 10, 2020, as the polling date for the 19th parliamentary elections.
