(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- The US recorded almost 47,000 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours whereas Brazil's new cases topped 23,000.
According to Johns Hopkins University Monday, the US recorded 46,935آ new coronavirus cases and 515.
The tally showed that the confirmed cases nationwide reached at leastآ 5,044,864آ cases, andآ 162,938آ deaths.
Meanwhile, Brazil recorded 23,010 new coronavirus cases and 572 deaths in the past 24 hours as the confirmed cases in the country reached 3,035,422 and at least 101,049 deaths.
The US and Brazil have the highest number of coronavirus cases and deaths globally. (end)
