A Rare Type of Tree was Identified in Western Part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Taif, June 24, 2020, SPA -- The office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Taif Governorate has identified a rare type of tree known as the Dragon's blood Tree, Khuzum, Al-Akhawain, or Dam Al-Akhawain. The tree has aesthetic and medical values and ancient history. It is threatened with extinction and this type of tree grows in the Sarawat Mountains range in the western part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Due to the importance of this type of trees and its scarcity, officials at the Office of the Ministry of the Environment in Taif Governorate have been keen on setting their location, identifying and preserving them as they are located in Al-Aila villages, south of Taif Governorate, west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture is working on sustainable agricultural and rural development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by exploiting and investing opportunities and resources available, in addition to benefiting from the comparative advantages in different regions, according to natural resources, agricultural potential and population.
