Jordan- ACC issues 9674 certificates of origin in a five- month period


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, June 6 (Petra) - The number of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) during the first five months of 2020 plunged by 24 percent, compared to the same period in 2019.
According to statistical data, the number of certificates of origin (COs) issued by the ACC during the first five months, 2020, hit 9674, compared to 12,655 during the same period of 2019.
The COs decrease was accompanied by a drop in the value of exports to about JOD301 million, compared to JOD412 million for the same period in 2019, down by 27 percent, showed the Chamber's figures.
As for the country distribution, the COs issued by the ACC went to Saudi Arabia with 1843, then the UAE with 1747, Iraq with 587, followed by Qatar, 702 and Egypt. 259.
During the five-month period, the majority of the ACC's exports went to Iraq with a value of JOD77 million, the UAE JOD54 million, then Qatar worth JOD28 million, Saudi Arabia JOD25 million, and Egypt JOD19 million, respectively.
According to the statistics, exports of foreign products (re-exports) amounted to JOD160 million during the same period.
