Nigerian army kills 39 militants


(MENAFN) The Nigerian army murdered as many as 39 militants and injured more others during conducting several operations in Zamfara state, northwest Nigeria this week, an army spokesperson emphasized on Saturday.

The raids were conducted in kura and Anka axis of the state, Oni Orisan, an spokesman for "Operation Hadarin Daji" affirmed in a statement.

He stated 19 of the "bandits" were murdered in a battle with the army in the bushes of Anka while the 20 were murdered in Bakura.

Orisan reaffirmed that the soldiers would not launch attack against repentant militants, and those unrepentant ones who carry weapons and walk around in huge numbers would be treated as hostile.
