Qatar- Patients express satisfaction with PHCC services at forum

The Primary Health Care Corporation's (PHCC) Eleventh Patients Forum was held recently at the Airport Health Center. The introduction to the Forum, made by Dr Mohamed Abdalla, Head of Patient Engagement, highlighted the significance of all comments and recommendations received during such forums for service development and quality improvement within PHCC. 
He mentioned that PHCC is very keen on regularly holding these patients' forums in all health centers to establish solid communications channels with society members, follow their concerns, and measure their satisfactions levels regarding services. 
Also a group of Airport Health Center' patients were invited to attend this forum, and they clearly stated their high satisfaction level. Among them Taher Al-Tajer described the resilience and optimism of PHCC's officials as carving-in-stone that yields comprehensive medical care system with highest international standards.  Fozia Al-Obaidli also showed her gratitude for inviting her to attend this forum and also praised all the efforts to make improvements to produce the best possible health care to all people of our beloved Qatar. 
 A presentation describing all main services and clinics was given by Dr Maryam Al Jaber, the Manager of Airport Health Center. She talked about specialized clinics within PHCC like Ophthalmology, Optometry, ENT, Premarital. She spoke about how these forums should continue due to being an important platform for meeting patients and build strong relations with society. 
With this type of relation, the patients will have a vital role in looking after their own health issues, and allow them to give feedbacks about improving clinical services provided by PHCC and especially by Airport Health Center.
The Executive Director of Operations Department Dr Samya Al Abdulla explained that PHCC acquired a new approach to expand all provided health services in order to have a comprehensive health care lining up with National Health Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030, and all health centers are now following this approach to meet patients' health needs. 
Accordingly, the Smart Checkup Clinic was introduced for detecting serious illness and chronic diseases in addition to a Cancer Screening Clinic. She noted that the main role of Smart Checkup Clinic is to detect main chronic diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol level, and hypertension which considered as the most common diseases in Qatar. 
The Smart Checkup assist in the early diagnosis of these chronic diseases which subsequently may become a factor to control negative outcomes of these diseases.
Dr  Al Abdallah also emphasized that the Family Physician importance relies on the patient acceptance for him, and on his unique semi-personal relation with the patient under a family and society frame. The Family Physician focus on disease prevention, health promotion, saving family medical history and collecting medical information in order to make the best treatment plan for the patient to get rid of chronic diseases and protect all family members.
She also highlighted the important role of the Cancer Screening Clinic in the ability to early diagnose of this serious illness. Especially the Bowel Cancer among men, and the Breast Cancer among women which are most common.
