Oman- OHRC visits Al Masarra Hospital, commends quality of services

A team from the Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC) paid a visit to Al Masarra Hospital and praised the hospital's management and staff for the services. 

The team visited the hospital departments and listened to details about the services and healthcare provided by the hospital. At the beginning of the visit, the team watched a film with details about the hospital and its departments.

Psychotherapy is divided into four categories that include general mental diseases, mental diseases of elderly people, mental diseases of children, mental diseases of adolescents and criminal psychology.

In addition, the hospital provides treatment for patients with drug and alcohol addiction, psychology, social service and rehabilitation such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The hospital is also deemed as a training centre for doctors and nurses in various medical specialties.

The OHRC team toured the hospital premises and learnt about the diagnostic services such as electroencephalography, psychological processes measurement, ultrasound waves system, CT and X-ray, drug addiction treatment, detoxification and alcoholism addiction treatment.

The hospital also provides services on comprehensive rehabilitation for drug addicts, comprehensive rehabilitation of mental illness for adults, children and adolescents, in addition to emergency services.

The visiting team consisted of Dr Ali bin Abdullah al Kalbani, secretary general, Khalid bin Yahya al Farei, Labibah bint Mohammed al Mawaliah, Yasser bin Said al Dhahli, and Sulaiman bin Abdullah al Wahaibi, members of OHRC.
