Oman- Expatriates held for selling old kummas in Muttrah

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- An inspection team from the Department of Consumer Protection in Rustaq arrested some expatriates for selling old kummas in Muttrah.
According to the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP), the inspection team confiscated a large number of kummas from the store. 'The expatriates arrested were selling the old kummas as new in Muttrah. Such kummas could expose consumers to infection,' an official at the consumer protection department said.
PACP has urged consumers to exercise caution when buying goods and ensure they are free of tampering. Consumers should also demand a purchase invoice at the time of sale to safeguard their rights. It also urged people to cooperate with the concerned official bodies and communicate with them whenever they see such malpractices in the market.
