Sri Lankan tourism flourishes in March


(MENAFN) Sri Lanka thrived in its tourism sector in March, as it welcomed more than 240,000 visitors compared to the number of tourists during the same month in 2018.

On Monday, the Tourism Development Authority confirmed the figure to have marked a 4.6 percent boost.

Indian, British and Chinese arrivals were the majority of the total number of tourists heading to Sri Lanka during the month.

Around 23,759 Chinese tourists alone arrived in Sri Lanka to amount for 10 percent of tourism arrivals, with British tourists accounting for 12 percent and Indian guests for 14 percent.
