Try this quick setting to boost your MacBook's battery life

The biggest issue with any old MacBook is the fact that its battery doesn't perform as it did on the very first day.
Its backup keeps declining, creating usage issues, especially when you're far from any source of power.
But now, thanks to CNET, we have a quick keyboard setting to make sure your Mac runs longer than it normally does.
Here's how.
How keyboard settings can increase battery life?

For any MacBook, the display acts as a major power-sucker, but elements like keyboard backlight also contribute to power loss.
So, turning off the backlight of your Mac's keyboard can improve its battery by some, if not a very big, margin.
And, we're not asking you to turn the backlight off permanently, but only for the time the keyboard is not being used.
So, how to change keyboard backlight settings?
Steps
In order to rig backlight to go off during inactivity, head over to the System Preferences section on your MacBook.
From there, click on the 'Keyboard' option and go into the settings listed under the first 'Keyboard' tab.
There, check the option "Turn keyboard backlight off after ____ of inactivity" and enter the time after which you want your backlight to go off.
You can enter anything between 5 seconds to 5 minutes

While entering inactivity time for backlight deactivation, you can choose anything between 5 seconds to 5 minutes.
However, we recommend going for something around 10-15 seconds as it would serve the purpose just right.
Going for a longer time limit is also not advised as it would eliminate the benefit of the move altogether.
Also, you won't find this option in Energy Saver settings
Fact
It is important to note that you won't find the option to tweak keyboard backlight settings in the Energy Saver settings of your MacBook. So, there's no point in going there, looking for the same.
