Oman- OSA honours Khalid, Aiman on winning medals at Asia Masters


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Swimming Association (OSA) on Monday honoured Khalid al Kulaibi and Aiman al Kulaibi on their medal- winning exploits at the inaugural Asian Masters Swimming Championships held in Nagoya, Japan, in July.

Swimmers from 14 countries took part in the meet, which was organised by the Asia Swimming Federation, Japan Masters Association and Japan Swimming Federation. It was held along with the 35th Japan Masters Swimming Championships.

Khaled won the gold medal in the 400m freestyle event (35-39 years) in a time of 4m27.91s and finished fourth in the 200m freestyle to be among the six medallists with a time was 2:08.03. He also came 13th in the 50m butterfly race with a time of 30.53s.

Aiman, who competed in the 18-24 years category was on podium in three events. He finished eighth in the 200m medley (2:35.20) to claim a medal.

Aiman took another medal in the 100m backstroke, finishing sixth with a time of 1:10.14. and captured his third medal when he ended sixth in the 50m backstroke with a time of 30.99s. In the 50m freestyle, Aiman came 31st with a time of 27.02s

OSA chairman Taha al Kishry presented awards to the duo in the presence of other board members.
