Jordan- Preliminary meetings of Arab summit kicks off at Dead Sea area

Dead Sea, March 23 (Petra)--The first preliminary meeting of the 28th Arab Summit kicked off at the Dead Sea area on Thursday with the participation of senior officials of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Shamali said in remarks that potentials, location and resources of the Arab nation prompt us to boost economic cooperation as well as investments.

On inter-Arab trade, he said it falls short of the aspiration of Arab peoples and called for removing hurdles that face Arab trade.

Shamali said that Jordan's role will not be restricted to assuming the presidency of the summit , but will also focus on finding solutions to crises that face the Arab region.

Assistant Arab League Secretary General for Social Affairs Badr El Din Alali said that the meeting will discuss the economic and social file in order to present it to the ministerial meeting and then to the Arab leaders on March 29.
