Taiwanese Oct export orders gain 3.2%

(MENAFN) Taiwan's economic authorities statistics revealed that exports orders rose by 3.2 percent last month from a year earlier, reaching USD38.38 billion, reported Xinhua News. The figure, which represents a gain of 1.9 percent from September, was driven by the introduction of new technology products, including new smartphones and tablet computers. In October, the value of orders in the IT and communication industry rose by 3.5 percent on-month, to USD9.84 billion, whereas orders for electronic products hit USD8.95 billion, the highest figure ever, as a result of strong demand. It is worth noting that orders from the US were at USD9.71 billion, while orders from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong fell by USD810 million from September to USD9.39 billion.
