Former Bihar CM, Rabri Devi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to the railways irregularities scam. This involved two hotel tenders that the Railways awarded in 2006, the year Rabri's husband, Lalu Prasad Yadav was Railways minister.

Rabri had skipped earlier summons by ED; she challenged them to come to Patna if they wanted to question her.

Here's more!

What is the railways irregularities scam?
About

As Railway minister, Lalu allegedly resorted to a criminal conspiracy and through a rigged tender process awarded Ranchi's and Puri's BNR hotels to Kochars, owners of Sujata Hotel Pvt. Ltd.

He reportedly received kickbacks for this, which were invested in benami properties.

Rabri is a co-accused in this case with Lalu and her son, former Bihar deputy CM, Tejaswi, among others.

After ignoring summons, Rabri will finally be interrogated in Patna
Interrogation

In July, ED registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Tejaswi has already been questioned. ED sent Rabri the last summon on November 24. She will be quizzed by a two-member team from Delhi.

She was earlier grilled by I-T officials over other benami property allegations.

Rabri has consistently claimed that BJP is using government machinery to implicate her family.
