Business In Malyn Community Restores 80% Of Its Capacity Mayor

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In Malyn urban territorial community, which suffered the most in Zhytomyr region due to Russian shelling at the start of the full-scale war, businesses have restored 80% of their capacity.

Malyn Mayor Oleksandr Sytailo spoke about this in an interview with Ukrinform .

"At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, almost all production facilities suspended operations, and not all of them have resumed. For example, after an airstrike on a bridge near one of the enterprises, its Swiss owners decided to move their operations to the Czech Republic. The company never returned, and the owners have stated that they will not even consider it until the war ends. However, other businesses have restored 80% of their pre-war capacity," Sytailo noted.

According to him, one major issue was the supply of raw materials, as the local paper industry previously relied on cellulose imports from the neighboring aggressor country. This forced the sector to restructure, find new suppliers, and adapt technologies. Now, production has been successfully restored.

"Another problem is the shortage of labor, as many men are currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The community feels this deeply, as well as the decline in tax revenue," the Mayor added.

Sytailo also mentioned that thanks to state grants, local entrepreneurs are launching businesses and paying taxes. He emphasized that despite the challenging circumstances, the community's largest tax-generating enterprises, as well as small and medium-sized businesses, continue to operate.

As reported by Ukrinform, there are over 9,000 registered legal entities and individual entrepreneurs engaged in business in Zhytomyr region.
