DOHA: The“Transparency” exhibition was inaugurated at the Al Markhiya gallery at the Fire Station, showcasing masterpieces of the contemporary Moroccan artists Hakim Ghazali and Khalid Elbekay.
The station will keep opening its doors to the public until April 4. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Qatar H E Mohamed Setri, alongside several diplomats, intellectuals, and artists.
Showcasing a superb art experience, the exhibition fuses visual arts with art books and offers an innovative masterpiece that combines modernity with authenticity.
Inspired by the Moroccan heritage, Khalid Elbekay incredibly combines precise geometric patterns, intricate arabesque designs, and expressive calligraphy to ultimately build a close connection with the inveterate Moroccan art traditions, whose art simultaneously transcends the cultural borders, reflecting interconnection between eastern and western impact to illuminate the cultural diversity in his art vision.
In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Elbekay said that the advanced art scene in Qatar prompted him to showcase his artworks at the Al Markhiya Gallery, one of the most prestigious galleries in Qatar.
He capitalised on Doha in the openness to the East, adding that art activism is dramatically burgeoning with prominent levels, indicating that he showcased artworks during 2015 and 2022 that focused on dialogue between Arab and Western cultures.
The artist Hakim Ghazali receives wide recognition regionally, whose artworks fuse impacts of Moroccan conventional arts with contemporary global visions, including painting, calligraphy, and conceptual art, often exploring themes of cultural identity, spirituality, and the interaction between tradition and modernity, with a career spanning nearly four decades.
Ghazali said his artworks debuted at the Al Markhiya Gallery in Qatar, representing the convergence of Eastern and Western arts with professionalism in organization.
He commended the efforts of those in charge of advancing the cultural and art affairs in Qatar.
