(MENAFN) The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) responded aggressively yesterday across three fronts: the Gaza Strip’s Netzarim axis, villages in southern Lebanon, and the West Bank. Reports indicate the IDF is demonstrating its determination by not sparing civilians in the line of fire.
In Lebanon, thousands of civilians, including Hezbollah members, marched toward villages near the Israeli border. This is seen as a test for both the Lebanese army’s control over Hezbollah and the IDF’s ability to handle breaches along the border. Reports suggest that tens of thousands reached villages like Maraka, Mays al-Jabal, and Maroun al-Ras, some displaying Hezbollah flags. Despite efforts to contact the Lebanese government to discuss Hezbollah’s weapon stockpiles, Hezbollah encouraged demonstrators to breach army checkpoints. The IDF responded with live fire to keep the protests at bay, resulting in at least 15 deaths and around 100 injuries.
On the Gaza front, the IDF faced a large crowd of Gazans near the Netzarim axis, where many were disappointed after being shot at by IDF forces. The IDF had prepared for this and confirmed reports of gunfire on civilians, with casualties occurring as a result.
In the West Bank, the IDF showed resolve when airstrikes targeted masked gunmen leading a funeral procession in the Balata refugee camp. This action signals Israel’s intent to prevent demonstrations of force by Hamas or any other groups during marches or funerals. The IDF’s actions across all three regions highlight its unyielding stance, regardless of the human cost.
