Mingachevir Regatta-2024 has solemnly started at Ashaqi
Kondalanchay Reserve in connection with Fuzuli City Day,
Azernews reports.
The event began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.
Following this, a moment of silence was observed to honor the
memory of the Azerbaijani martyrs.
Special Representative of the President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts Emin Huseynov
said that the organizing such sports events in the liberated
territories is a historic event.
He outlined that during the occupation, the city was not in good
condition, and following the Second Garabagh War, restoration work
in Fuzuli was carried out under the instructions of President Ilham
Aliyev.
E. Huseynov also mentioned that the Ashaqi Kondalanchay Reserve,
where the competition is being held, was constructed upon the
initiative and directive of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in
the early 1980s.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov stressed the
significance of the regatta and wished success to the athletes.
Around 100 athletes from Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Italy,

and Uzbekistan are competing in the tournament.
On the first day of the competition, Azerbaijani rowers won 2
gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
The tournament is jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and
Sports and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation. The final
