BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 18. The
construction of a new residential complex has begun in Kyrgyzstan's
Bishkek, Trend
reports.
President Sadyr Japarov has thrown down the gauntlet by laying
the foundation stone for the "Yntymak" residential complex, a
venture being cooked up by the State Mortgage Company.
The project will be a towering achievement, featuring 18-story
buildings spread across 18 hectares, boasting a grand total of
8,100 apartments. The complex will boast all the bells and
whistles, including roads, a school, two kindergartens, green
spaces, and parking facilities to boot. The first floors will be
home to commercial spaces, where the rubber meets the road.
Half of the apartments in the new complex will be allocated
under favorable conditions for social workers, while the other half
will be available to migrants and other citizens, provided they
contribute 50 percent towards the construction costs. The president
said that this prepayment requirement is intended to expedite
housing construction for other citizens waiting for their turn.
Japarov stated that over 40,000 residences are now under
construction across the country, with a total space of 2 million
square meters. He mentioned that multi-story structures are being
built in regional cities and that construction will commence in
district centers and smaller towns next year.
"A special program has been developed to simplify access to
housing for socially vulnerable groups. Under this program, housing
will be offered on favorable terms, without a down payment, and
with options for long-term purchase," said Japarov.
The president stressed that efforts are underway to offer
housing for residents who do not own a home, especially migrant
workers abroad. He stated that as of today, there are 22,573
persons on the housing waiting list in Bishkek and 15,400 in the
provinces. He asked individuals to register for homes not only in
the city, but also in the surrounding districts.
According to Japarov, the government is pulling out all the
stops to make sure that everyone in need can find a roof over their
heads by 2028.
