AMMAN - Jordanian diplomacy, under the leadership of his majesty King Abdullah, is working both regionally and internationally to stop the“brutal” Israeli aggression on Gaza and end the violations against the West Bank, Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi said.

During meetings at the Royal Court on Saturday with a delegation of Aqrabawi tribe from Zarqa and a youth delegation from Irbid, Issawi stressed that King Abdullah's continued efforts underscore the need for international solidarity to achieve a comprehensive and just peace in the region.

He stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital is essential for achieving lasting peace and regional stability.

Reviewing Jordan's positions and His Majesty's ongoing efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and ensure the continued flow of aid, Issawi referred to the Jordan-hosted conference on humanitarian response for Gaza, which was held in partnership with Egypt and the United Nations.

Jordan's political and diplomatic efforts are matched by continuous humanitarian initiatives, notably sending humanitarian and relief aid, dispatching a new Jordanian field hospital and reinforcing field hospitals with medical personnel and supplies, he noted.

Issawi highlighted the“courageous” actions of the Royal Jordanian Air Force in breaking the siege on Gaza by conducting continuous airdrops of urgent medical supplies to Jordanian field hospitals.

Jordan has become a launch pad for these operations to deliver international and UN aid to Gaza, he said.

Issawi also highlighted the efforts of Her Majesty Queen Rania to raise global awareness about the double standards of the international community and their impact on Arab and Islamic sentiments.

He also mentioned the efforts of HRH Crown Prince Hussein and the participation of HRH Princess Salma in one of the airdrops of aid.

Stressing Jordan's“firm” positions on the Palestinian cause, Issawi confirmed that Jordan will continue to exert all efforts to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and to provide Jordanian field hospitals with medical supplies.

Under the Hashemite Custodianship, Jordan will continue to exert all efforts to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and will resist any attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in the Holy City.

Speakers at the meeting praised Jordan's courageous stances and King Abdullah's proactive efforts to support Gaza.
