We Plan To Compete In World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships For Top Spot - Azerbaijani Athletes


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. We must win theWorld Acrobatic Gymnastics Championship to be held in Portugal inSeptember; we will fight for first place, members of theAzerbaijani national team on acrobatic gymnastics, athletes AgasifRahimov and Raziya Seyidli said, Trend reports.

Meanwhile, they took part in the 29th World Championships inacrobatic gymnastics.

Agasif Rahimov and Raziya Seydli, performing as a mixed pair,noted that they will take part in three stages of the World Cupbefore the World Championships.

"Preparations for the upcoming World Cup stages are going on asplanned. The opponents will be strong; we should try to win goldlike last season," Agasif Rahimov said.

According to Raziya Seyidli, they fulfilled the program well atthe Azerbaijan Championship and Baku Championship.

"Compared to last season, minor changes have been made to theprogram; it is a bit more complicated. We hope that we will show ahigh result at international starts and return to our homeland withgold medals," she added.

To note, the 29th Azerbaijan Championship and Baku AcrobaticGymnastics Championship competitions were held at the Heydar AliyevSports and Concert Complex in Baku on April 25–26.

Participants in the competition are pupils of the SpecializedChildren and Youth Olympic Reserve School for Gymnastics, OjagSports Club, Neftchi Sports Club, and Specialized Children andYouth Olympic Reserve Sports School No13.
