Azerbaijan Holds Nationwide Food Prices Steady


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Food prices inAzerbaijan stabilized in March, the Center for Economic and SocialDevelopment (CESD) told Trend .

According to CESD monitoring, non-food products experienced thelargest price growth in the consumer sector in March 2024.

Food costs remained stable in March. This is related to arelative reduction in imported inflation and the optimization offood consumption, with annual inflation at 4.6 percent.

To note, the nationwide consumer price index in March 2024 was100.4 percent compared to March 2023. The consumer price index inMarch 2024 was 100.2 percent compared to the previous month, whilein January-March it was 101 percent compared to the correspondingperiod of the previous year. Meanwhile, the total production valueof construction materials from January through March 2024 amountedto 274.6 million manat ($161.4 million), increasing by 34.4 percentcompared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
