War Update: 17 Combat Engagements Recorded In Five Areas In Eastern Ukraine Within Last Day

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Heavy fighting continues in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka sectors, with 17 combat engagements recorded there within the last day. The General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine said this in an evening update published on facebook , Ukrinform reports.
According to the post, the Russian invaders are concentrating their main efforts on the said sectors.
Throughout the day, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed attack drones. A total of 28 kamikaze drones were used. Ukrainian air defenses destroyed 26 attack UAVs and two Zala reconnaissance drones.
The enemy also launched 54 airstrikes and used multiple rocket launchers 38 times against the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and populated localities. Damage to infrastructure and civilian casualties were recorded.
Repression against Ukrainian citizens is gaining momentum in the settlement of Henichesk in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. According to available information, local collaborators, wanting to curry favor with the Russians, constantly slander citizens and conduct groundless inspections. The invaders also threaten locals that if they do not have a Russian passport, they will be deported to Siberia and all their property will be confiscated.
During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 14 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 3 - on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.
Throughout the day, Ukrainian rocket and artillery units hit three command posts, ten artillery pieces, an air defense system, and an enemy EW station.
