'Linda Veut Du Poulet' Wins Grand Prize At Annecy Festival


(MENAFN- Asdaf News) The French Annecy animated film festival awarded the grand prize to the comedy“Linda veut du poulet” or“Chicken for Linda!” late on Saturday.

At Annecy, a significant festival for animated pictures, the feature-length film directed by Chiara Malta and Sebastien Laudenbach took home the Silver Crystal trophy.

This year's Cannes Film Festival also featured a screening of the movie.

The film“Four Souls of Coyote” by Hungarian director Aron Gauder, which is about Native Americans opposing an oil pipeline proposal, won the festival's Jury Award.

The Franco-Belgian filmmaker Benoit Chieux's film“Sirocco and the Kingdom of Air Streams,” which is about two sisters who become mixed up in a fantastical journey, won the audience prize.

The jury saw 11 films during the festival, which according to organizers has welcomed 15,820 visitors from 102 nations over the course of the last week, a 19% increase from 2022, which was already a record year.
