Kuwait Attends OIC Talks On Trade Aspect Of Human Rights

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, May 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's consul general in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea city of Jeddah Mohammad Al-Mutairi led his country's delegation during talks on Monday involving Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states, focusing on the link between trade and human rights.
Protecting human rights in the realm of trade and commercial activities is of the "utmost importance," the Kuwaiti diplomat, who also serves as his country's permanent delegate to the Islamic bloc, said during the talks, emphasizing the necessity of more cooperation on the matter.
The talks underlined the aim of ensuring that global trade rules and agreements promote rather than undermine the principles of human rights, he added. (end)
