The charity event was organised by ABA Plumbing & Gas CEO, Paul Chaina, who is passionate about supporting the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation, a charity close to his heart. "I am proud to have spearheaded this charity event to raise funds for the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation. This hospital has played an important role in my life as it provided essential care for my mother during her illness. Losing her at a young age was a traumatic experience, and I see giving back as a way to heal and positively impact families who are going through similar situations," said Chaina.
The event saw an outpouring of support from the local community, with a total of $10K raised by ABA Plumbing & Gas and an additional $1200 donated by the attendees. The company's staff members, including Matthew Weston, Shelby Sawka, and Tiana Borg, worked tirelessly throughout November and December 2022 to ensure the event's success. Their hard work paid off, as the event was filled with fun and excitement for both kids and adults. Kids had a blast with a range of activities, including face painting, a sausage sizzle, and a jumpy castle. The highlight of the event was the chance to meet Santa and his three elves, who drew a crowd of onlookers when they stood on the footpath waving at traffic. The event also featured a kids raffle for boys and girls, adding to the festive atmosphere. With two Santa displays, including one with Santa and his three elves, the event was a true celebration of the holiday season. The community showed their support with lots of love and appreciation.
In addition to the support and kindness from the community, the event received generous donations and sponsorships from Adelaide Seafood at Stepney and The Christmas Shop at Cumberland Park. Adelaide Seafood contributed a leg of ham and a seafood platter, while The Christmas Shop helped with the decorations.
