Doha: 20 people were killed, and 29 others were injured in Oqbat Shiar, Saudi Arabia as a bus carrying a number of people, among who were pilgrims, caught fire on Monday, as reported by Al Arabiya.
According to the Saudi newspaper Okaz, which broke the news earlier, the accident took place today on a road leading between Asir province and the city of Abha.
The accident was the result of a break failure that led the bus to collide against a bridge, tip over, and catch fire, according to the newspaper.
Okaz reported that civil defense and Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams rushed to the site of the accident and cordoned off the area.
The deceased and the wounded have reportedly been transported to hospitals nearby the area.
