Foreign Ministry Event Highlights Role Of Jordanian Women In Diplomacy

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - The Foreign Ministry on Sunday celebrated International Women's Day (IWD) by organising a session titled 'The Role of Jordanian Women in Diplomacy: Achievements and Ambitions since the First Centennial'.

The session aimed to acknowledge the significant contributions of Jordanian women to diplomacy and their achievements in shaping the country's foreign policy, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. Ambassador Lina Al Hadid, the ministry's secretary-general for diplomatic and Expatriate Affairs, inaugurated the session, during which she highlighted the elevated status of Jordanian women, highlighting the Royal directives to enhance the empowerment of women in political, economic, social and military domains, as the driving forces behind this progress.

The regulatory legislation and constitutional amendments aimed at enhancing women's contributions to the country's development reflect this commitment, she noted. The session also recognised the achievements of female diplomats who have held prominent positions locally, regionally and internationally, as well as those who served as ambassadors in various capitals. The session also recognised the achievements of Jordanian expatriates.
