"The International Day of Happiness is celebrated globally to emphasise the value of happiness in human life, its role in improving physical and mental health and in increasing performance and productivity. The UAE in general and the government sector in particular give special attention to the commemoration of this day and to instilling and solidifying the values of happiness, joy, and positivity. Today, the UAE is making strides to become one of the happiest countries in the world by providing everything that promotes the well-being of members of the community and that enhances the quality of their life, and in so doing, we are following the footsteps of our late founding father, H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who said “The happiness of my people is my wealth.” On the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, we, at the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai (SLC), reiterate our commitment to continue building a legislative system that serves as the regulatory framework for the initiatives and strategies aimed at looking ahead to a more flourishing and prosperous future, and establishing the UAE as the Land of Happiness.”
