(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The international arrest warrant for Russian president Vladimir Putin is the result of painstaking efforts by the Prosecutor General's Office headed by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and the President's Office headed by Andriy Yermak. Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk said this during national news telethon.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that some Russian officials demonstratively adopted deported Ukrainian children, flaunting their impunity. Therefore, the arrest warrant for Putin and so-called Russian children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova has a clear cause-and-effect relationship.
'The world has shown that it will not stand aside. All villains will end up in the dock. The crimes of the Russian authorities will not go unpunished. And this is just the beginning,' Vereshchuk summed up.
As reported, on Friday, March 18, judges of the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian president Vladimir Putin and the Russian children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. They are suspected of war crimes in the form of illegal deportation and transfer of the population, including children, from the occupied territory of Ukraine.
