Yearly chicken meat output estimated to amount to 2.65m tons by mid-March

(MENAFN) As declared by an official with Iran’s Agriculture Ministry, it is estimated that the nation’s yearly chicken meat output to amount to 2.65 million tons in the ongoing Iranian calendar year (closes on March 20).

Hossein Damavandi-Nejad, the deputy minister for livestock outputs, asserted that the output volume of chicken meat in the nation is three million tons and also stated that that the entire provision of the nation’s chicken meat market has been reached up to now.

He also declared that egg output is estimated to amount to 1.2 million tons in this year, of which 80,000 tons are shipped.

“Interventions have caused ups and downs, but we must pay attention to the logic that the system is a system of supply and demand”, the official pointed out.

He continued: “Even in addition to fully meeting the domestic needs of poultry, we can respond to the needs of up to 10 million people around the country.”

Damavandi-Nejad also noted that around nine months have went by since the operation of the big program to reform the financial structure, mainly in the agricultural industry and the poultry industry of the nation, and stated that “In the beginning, due to the magnitude of this plan, there were concerns, but with the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, the issue was managed and now production and storage of chicken meat, eggs, and other livestock and agricultural products are in suitable conditions.”
