Kyrgyzstan Plans To Intensify Work On Chaldovar TPP Construction
“We plan to intensify work on major energy projects, such as the construction of the Chaldovar thermal power plant and Kara-Keche thermal power plant with a capacity of 500 MW, which will provide our country with the necessary energy resources and create new opportunities for industrial development,” the head of the Cabinet said.
Zhaparov pointed out that energy remains one of the key areas of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation.
According to him, the projects being implemented with Rosatom to build small hydroelectric power plants, as well as wind and solar power plants, will help not only improve energy security but also accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources, which is a strategic priority for Kyrgyzstan.
In the course of his speech, Zhaparov stressed the stability of electricity supplies from Russia to Kyrgyzstan.
To note, the Energy Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Russia signed a memorandum of cooperation on the Chaldovar thermal power plant construction project in March 2024.
