25-year-old Oregon resident is in custody after attack on elderly man
(MENAFN) An elderly man was attacked, and a 25-year-old Oregon resident is now in arrest, according to the police. The victim suffered horrific injuries when the attacker chewed off much of his face and one of his ears, according to the police.
The terrifying event was described in detail by the Gresham Police Department on Tuesday. According to the department, officers responded to a complaint about a "possible stabbing" just after 2:00am regional time in Gresham, where witnesses reported seeing a "significant amount of blood." The suspect was "still on top of the victim, continuing the attack" when they got there, but he was soon restrained and taken into custody.
Officers turned their attention to the 78-year-old victim and found him to have horrendous injuries, including some that were "so severe that responders could see the victim’s skull." Additionally, one of the man's ears was gone, possibly having been gnawed off by the offender.
