Kuleba Names Two Ways To Restore Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at a meeting of the foreign ministers of the G7 countries spoke about ways to overcome the shortage of electricity in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of protecting the country's energy infrastructure from Russian missile terror.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service said this in a statement , Ukrinform reports.

'The first option is to buy electricity in the EU. But prices on the EU market are much higher than in Ukraine, so additional financial support will be needed. The second method involves providing Ukraine with the necessary energy equipment, transformers and generators, which will help compensate for the damaged energy infrastructure,' the minister said.

In this context, Kuleba thanked the United States for giving Ukraine $ 53 million for the urgent purchase of energy equipment.

The Ukrainian foreign policy chief said that since October 10, Russia has launched more than 600 missiles on targets across Ukraine and attacked critical infrastructure, adding that Russia will continue its missile terror against Ukraine.

'It is critically important to provide Ukraine with the necessary equipment for the restoration of electric power. But it is no less important to continue providing assistance to protect this equipment from repeated attacks, in particular by supplying Ukraine with missile and air defense systems,' he concluded.

On November 29, a two-day meeting of NATO foreign ministers began in Bucharest, with allies discussing the most important issues of Euro-Atlantic security. Kuleba was invited to participate in the meeting.
