Turkey’s daily electricity usage increase by 3.4 percent on Sept. 27


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Wednesday shows that daily electricity consumption in Turkey grew by 3.4 percent on Tuesday in comparison to the day before, standing at 869,834 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, the peak hourly power usage was 40,733 megawatts per hours at 03:00 regional time (1200 GMT). At 5:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 29,884 megawatts per hours (0200 GMT).

On Tuesday, 858,259 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, a rise of 3.6 percent over the previous day.

Natural gas and wind power factories each constituted by 19.3 percent and 17 percent of the total electricity generated, whereas imported coal factories comprised by 22.7 percent of it.

Electricity exports and imports for the day totaled 7,786 and 19,361 megawatts per hours, respectively.
