Qatar Strongly Condemns Bombing In South Somalia

DOHA: The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the bombing that targeted a hotel in the city of Jowhar in southern Somalia, which led to deaths and injuries.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar's firm position on the rejection of violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons.

The Ministry expressed the State of Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims, and the government and people of Somalia, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. 

The Somali National News Agency stated that the blast was the result of a car bomb that targeted Nur Dob hotel in the town of Jowhar, wounding and killing a number of people, while dozens of injured people were admitted to hospitals, in addition to destroying the buildings located in proximity to the Hotel. 

However, a security source said that the explosion caused countless human casualties and the numbers have not been confirmed yet, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the explosion.
