Technical Jordanian-Tunisian Road Transport Committee Discuss Cooperation

Amman, June 2 (Petra) - The Jordanian-Tunisian joint technical committee in the road transport field held its 3rd meeting remotely.
In a press statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Transport said the Tunisian side will send, according to the meeting, a draft agreement in the field of international road transport and the exchange of data and legislation.
Speaking at the virtual event, Secretary-General of Ministry of Transport, Wissam Tahtamoni, stressed the 'deep-rooted' Jordanian-Tunisian relations and the importance of joint coordination and cooperation in the transport fields.
The two sides agreed to exchange legislation in the field of land transport to benefit from related expertise, adding that agreements with the Tunisian side aim to facilitate passenger and goods transportation on the two countries' roads, Tahtamoni said.
She also pointed to the several memoranda of understanding (MoU) that aimed to enhance levels of joint cooperation and coordination in all transport areas.
For his part, director of Tunisian land transport directorate, Ramzi Khaznadar, , said bilateral relations are 'distinguished and historic, stressing his country's endeavor to increase joint cooperation and consultation with Jordan to exchange expertise in the road and rail transport fields.
In addition, the Tunisian delegation lauded the Jordanian Ministry of Transport's role to develop agreements to serve common interest and improve the transport sectors.
